Watch the Pros practice!

We have had plenty of snow and cold temperatures already this winter in Toronto which has made for ideal conditions to enjoy a recreational skate outdoors. Toronto has an abundance of outdoor skating rinks. Many of these are being refurbished thanks to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. The latest fix-up has taken place at the Trinity-Bellwoods Park rink. The ribbon cutting cermony for this $150,000 retrofit will be held on Wednesday December 22nd at 10:30 a.m. The Toronto Maple Leaf hockey team will hold a public practice on the rink to mark this occassion. Trinity Bellwoods Park is located west of Bathurst Street off Dundas Street West.
If you want to experience something new in Toronto as far as recreational skating is concerned then head down to the Colonel Samuel Smith Ice Trail in Etobicoke located at Lake Shore Blvd and Kipling Avenue. This is Toronto's first artificial ice rink without boards. Rather than the traditional oval design this ice trail is configured as a figure 8 that twists and winds through the parks natural features. The Colonel Samuel Smith ice trail is lit for evening skates and is open from 7 a.m to 10 p.m. Skating is free.
